Patras Broadband was founded in 2018 on the island of Ithaca, when its founder, Andreas Andrianopoulos, identified the island’s urgent need for reliable and fast internet access.
He launched a wireless internet company with the mission of bringing high-speed, stable connectivity to areas that, until then, were “off the broadband map.”
What is Wireless Internet?
The provider develops its own network of wireless stations in selected areas and delivers internet services without the need for fiber optic infrastructure.
Patras Broadband is a licensed wireless communications provider, operating under General Authorization 18-061 by the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT).
Rapid Growth: From Ithaca to Patras
Within its first year, the company had connected 20% of Ithaca’s residents and 35% of its tourist accommodations.
In 2019, it made its first connection in Patras, paving the way for rapid mainland expansion.
Shortly after, with the onset of the pandemic, the demand for remote work and online education surged. Patras Broadband quickly adapted, covering essential connectivity needs for households, educational institutions, and professionals.
Innovation Without Limits
In 2020, the company became the first in Greece to offer speeds of 1000 Mbps across its entire network—without fiber optics.
At the same time, it launched impactful corporate social responsibility initiatives, offering free or discounted internet to NGOs, disability sports associations, and monasteries in the region of Aetolia-Acarnania.
A New Era – New Facilities

2025 Brings New Horizons
As we move into 2025, the company offers 500/500 Mbps and 1000/1000 Mbps packages across nearly all of its network.
IPv6 support is now a reality, while the network coverage extends to Lefkada, Preveza, Arta, Kastos, Kalamos, Meganisi, Alyzia, Xiromero, Agrinio, Mesolongi, Aetoliko, Nafpaktos, Trizonia, Erateini, Tolofona, and the entirety of Achaia, Ilia, and Corinthia.
Through strategic partnerships in Greece and abroad, Patras Broadband can now offer circuits of up to 10 Gbit in selected areas.

Patras Broadband’s goal for the coming years is to expand its network, deliver high-speed connections to even more users, and integrate fiber optic infrastructure to create a hybrid model that combines flexibility with technological innovation.
